Heartlines is located 150 miles south of Dallas and 90 miles north of Houst. Heartlines Ranch is a turn-key Thoroughbred operation which includes everything from breeding to foaling to racing. These offspring are produced from a herd of Kentucky-bred mares and their own stallions, Maverick, a son of leading sire Dixieland Band, out of Bonnie's Poker, dam of Kentucky Derby winner, Silver Charm; and Sequoyah, a son of horse of the year A.P. Indy out of 2 yr. old champion Chilukki. The facilities include an onsite six-furlong track, computer-driven exercisers, walker, covered arena with an indoor round pen, vet barn, training barn and foaling barn. Heartlines has an in-house trainer who oversees the entire training operation as well as breaks the yearlings and starts the two-year-olds on the track. The offspring are analyzed for racing potential, and when the two-year-olds are ready, they are sent to various tracks around the country.
Heartlines Ranch has been building a herd of Thoroughbred mares based on their pedigrees, conformation, pattern of performance, and hearts. Many mares were purchased at Keeneland, in foal to top Kentucky stallions. Heartlines Ranch now has offspring from these mares that were all foaled at the farm. Some of the sires include El Corredor, Freud, Alphabet Soup, Mizzen Mast, Buddha, Domestic Dispute, Dixie Dot Com, Tiznow, Lion Hearted, Chief Seattle, Judge TC, Tapit, Northern Afleet, Thunder Gulch, Strong Hope, Pollards Vision, Kafwain, Silver Train, Stormin Fever, Saint Liam, and Hap. Heartlines' goal is to combine cutting-edge genetics from the best Kentucky Thoroughbred lines with top thoroughbred professionals to produce outstanding Texas-bred equine athletes.
