Stallions

Maverick

In the selection of mares, Heartlines Ranch has tried to pick lines that will cross well with Maverick, a son of leading sire Dixieland Band, out of Bonnie's Poker, the dam of Silver Charm. He is the only half-brother to Kentucky Derby winner Silver Charm at stud. From his first two crops, it looks like the combinations are working; his foals are all correct and come out galloping when foaled. They are very sturdy at birth and all stand erect and look more like they are a week or two old. Maverick's first foals raced in 2009 & he has 100% winners to date from 4 starters w/ 2 of them being multiple winners; his son, Royal Hay Patch, ran second in the $100K Tx Stallion Stakes on 5/8/10.  He is from an outstanding female family that is very productive. His half-sister, El Rose, dam of graded stakes winner, Super Freaky, was sold at the November '07 sale for $1.25-million.

Sequoyah

There is a saying that “class gets class” and that is certainly true of our stallion, Sequoyah. The five-year-old son of champion A.P. Indy out of champion Chulliki, is producing very classy individuals in his first crop at Heartlines Ranch. Bred by Stonerside Farm in Kentucky, Sequoyah was injured and race just once, but he is passing on his superior genetics to his sons and daughters. This first crop is exceptional, being both beautiful and well-balanced, and with that certain brilliance which only comes from the very best. A. P. Indy is known internationally as a leading sire and as a sire of sires. His son, Sequoyah, appears to be following in that mold, siring individuals with size, scope and brilliance.  He has covered in his first crop some outstanding Kentucky-bred mares by sires such as Kingmambo, Nureyev, El Gran Senor, Smart Strike,  Holy Bull, Two Punch, Mr. Greeley, Miner’s Mark, Seeking the Gold, Chief Seattle, Phone Trick, Atticus, Castle Gandolpho, and Fasiliev, to name just a few.
