Royal Hay Patch wins his debut by 5 ½ lengths, breaking his maiden on December 12 at Delta Downs. The two-year-old colt by Maverick out of Miss Lady Di by Dehere became his sire’s first colt to hit the track and he made his daddy proud with an impressive win going a mile on the dirt in a maiden special weight. The dark bay colt stalked the leaders on the backside going up the rail and took the lead at the top of the stretch to draw away in a romp. Trained by Brian House, the colt picked up $15,000 for his first outing.
