The three-year-old New York-bred gelding by Ormsby out of Sweet Rita by Rubiano made it to the winner’s circle again after breaking his maiden at Louisiana Downs on September 27. The dark bay colt stalked the leaders in third until the final turn when he went three wide and took the lead in the stretch to race clear and win by a length and a half. Trainer Brian House and his crew were very happy with Ucheap’s strong performance.
